Multiturn for large hollow shafts: the new IMEA 64

With the new IMEA 64, PWB encoders is expanding its product portfolio with an absolute, bearingless encoder with magnetic scanning. Thanks to the use of the latest technology, the IMEA 64 offers the option of correctly detecting and storing single and multiturn positions even in a de-energized state.

Simple installation, flexible interfaces, long service life

The rotary kit system consists of a magnetic hub and a sensor head (including PCB and mounting bracket) and can be mounted quickly and easily on motor shafts of various sizes.

The rotary encoder can be configured with either the SSI or BiSS interfaces; an SPI interface is available on customer request. It can therefore be flexibly integrated into different control and regulation environments. The power supply is 5V and the signals are provided via a Molex connector or a cable.

The buffer battery is mandatory for the absolute position and can be integrated in the rotary encoder itself, in the cable or in the control unit. The service life of the encoder depends on the capacity of the buffer battery - up to 24 years is possible.

A real-time system for harsh environments

Typical applications include systems with large hollow shafts and motion control applications, as well as absolute positioning, brushless motors and servomotors. The IMEA 64 can also be used as a position sensor, position sensor or rotary multiturn encoder.
